Together, We Will Build a Better Portland

I’m a community organizer, advocate, and policymaker. I believe in the power of democracy and the promise of Portland.

I’m running to fulfill the voters’ vision for an improved council that focuses on legislation and oversight, that collaborates and shapes policy, and helps the government deliver services to Portlanders – who all deserve better.

I’m a proud Chinese American son of immigrants, and have dedicated my professional career to weaving more people into the fabric of our civic life through pro-democracy policy advocacy, campaigns, and racial justice coalition building. As a Chief of Staff in the Oregon State Legislature, I have worked in coalition to deliver bold climate investments, fight for safer streets, expand our local democracy to include more voices, and to make our economy and state a more fair and welcoming place. As a Charter Review Commissioner, I successfully fought for the idea that government is better when more of us have a say, when more people vote, and when our government is more reflective of the political viewpoints and experiences Portland represents.

We can’t afford more years of dysfunction – we have one shot at a fresh start. Portlanders need this new government to deliver. I am committed to charter change, and want to see our city succeed in its new form. Together, we can build a Portland for everyone.
